In healthcare, we work with third-party developers and directly with the NHS, GPs and mental health trusts. We understand the needs of healthcare buildings and have completed projects that have achieved outstanding BREEAM ratings.

Our track record includes constructing new GP surgeries, building medical centres incorporating pharmacies and retail units, and extending and adapting health centre buildings. When working directly with GPs or other healthcare professionals, we help to plan buildings that work well for patients and practitioners, making the most economical use of space and configuring rooms and areas in the most logical and efficient way for end users.

Project In Focus

The Beckside Centre, Pocklington

Project Summary:

Pocklington Group Practice (PGP) engaged Aspect 4 to assist in developing a state-of-the-art new medical centre, including a pharmacy. A local development site adjacent to a new housing estate was identified as the ideal location for the new facility, which would replace the practice’s existing cramped premises in Barmby Road.

The new doctors’ surgery is light and airy with significantly improved accessibility for patients, improved reception and waiting areas, high-quality consulting and treatment rooms, a substantially improved car park, Level 3 minor surgery suite and a separate dispensary. The facilities accommodate the PGP surgery and other healthcare providers, including members of the community nursing team, physiotherapists and occupational therapists from Humber NHS Foundation Trust – meeting the needs of the practice’s growing patient list and providing a more integrated service to the local community.

Wartime antiquities were found on site during early excavation works, including the engine of a Halifax bomber, which now takes pride of place outside the surgery.

Aspect 4 assisted PGP from inception to completion on this BREEAM ‘Very Good’ development. The team liaised with funders, lawyers, tenants and members of the professional team to successfully complete this multi-million-pound, GP-led project.
